Rainbow Stripes and Podium Finishes: World Championship Weekend

The 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships delivered a massive weekend of racing for TRP athletes. From a new World Champion in XCO to a World Championship silver and bronze, TRP athletes battled at the front across three disciplines — with Naël Rouffiac, Martina Berta, and Rens Teunissen Van Manen all leaving the weekend with medals.

XCC — Short Track

World Championships racing kicked off with Short Track, where KMC’s Rens Teunissen Van Manen put together a huge ride in the U23 Men’s race to claim 3rd place and a World Championship bronze medal.

Mathis Azzaro put together a strong Short Track race to finish 4th in Elite Men, just outside the medals, while Origine Racing Division teammate Ronja Eibl finished 17th.

Dh- Downhill

Asa Vermette put together a huge Elite Men's Downhill run to finish 4th in the World — just 0.7 seconds from the bronze medal and only one second from the World Championship Title.

The result continues an impressive first season in the Elite ranks for Asa, who currently sits 2nd overall in the UCI Downhill World Cup standings.

In Elite Women, Frameworks/TRP’s Anna Newkirk finished 10th, followed closely by Maylei Leaneagh in 13th and UNNO Factory Racing’s Veronika Widmann in 15th. Anna also continues to hold 4th overall in the Elite Women’s World Cup standings.

The next generation of TRP downhill athletes was also represented in the Junior fields. Zana Logar finished 11th and Raina Logar 12th in Junior Women, while Léo Godin took 34th and Jack McCredie 35th in Junior Men.

XCO — Rouffiac Takes the Rainbow Jersey

Sunday brought the biggest result of the weekend.

Origine Racing Division’s Naël Rouffiac delivered a World Championship-winning ride in the U23 Men’s XCO race, taking 1st place and earning the rainbow jersey.

It was a huge moment for Rouffiac, Origine Racing Division, and TRP — and it wasn't the team's only trip to the podium.

Mathis Azzaro capped his weekend with another top result, taking 6th in Elite Men after finishing 4th in XCC.

In Elite Women, Martina Berta raced to an incredible 2nd place, earning the World Championship silver medal

A World Championship Weekend to Remember

One rainbow jersey. One silver medal. One bronze medal.

Beyond the hardware, TRP athletes delivered top results across XCC, DH, and XCO — from Asa Vermette coming within a single second of the Elite Downhill World Championship to Mathis Azzaro and Martina Berta fighting at the front in Elite XC disciplines.

But the highlight belongs to Naël Rouffiac, who leaves World Championships wearing the rainbow stripes after an unforgettable U23 XCO victory.

A massive weekend on the biggest stage in mountain bike racing — and another chapter in an already incredible 2026 season for TRP athletes.
